PICTURES: Visiting The British Museum In London
Sometime in July 2018, while on summer vacation, i had the opportunity to visit the British Museum in London. As a natural lover of the arts, it was such an interesting experience for me as i had the opportunity to view art pieces from all across the world. I was particularly fascinated by the sheer quantum and quality of art works from all over the world Africa domiciled at the British Museum.
As you walk into the Sainsbury African Galleries at the British Museum, you are welcomed by a giant art piece by Ghanaian Art Master El-Anatsui titled "Man's Cloth".
Never before had i seen an art gallery with such amount of Art pieces from African origin and all over the world. From Igbo Ukwu Art, to Benin Bronze & Wood Carvings, Ife Bronze, Okpella Masquerade... The list is endless! I would try my best to share as much pictures as i can here:
The Pottery Section is Mind Blowing!
Find some Bronze Works & Materials showing the King's Head from the Benin Kingdom in Nigeria
Here are some War Time Costumes!
The Masquerades of African Descent
The Okakagbe Masquerade of the Okpella people in Nigeria, designed by Art & Craft Master Lawrence Ajanaku.
Ife Bronze Pieces.. Masterly works of ancient Ife craftsmen.
Benin Bronze and Wood Carvings.

I do hope you find these pictures as interesting as i personally found them. Do well to leave your comments. Best wishes.
